"Its Your Life, Live It."
Don’t let pain rob you of living your life.

God has given us a versatile joint known as Hip joint. It is a ball and socket joint wherein ball articulates with the socket of the hip. Here the head of the femur is being referred as ball and acetabulum of the hip is being referred as socket of the hip. It is a very stable joint of the body as the head is deeply located in the socket and is surrounded by strong ligaments and muscle. The joint is versatile because a wide range of motion in almost all the directions can be performed. This range of motion is essential for all the sports activities which includes gymnasts, various yogic postures involving padmasana, squatting on toes and sitting cross legged for performing prayers.

Hip Preservation is primarily in response to the limitations in hip replacement technology. Hip preservation is a way to prevent or delay the onset of osteoarthritis or other degenerative conditions affecting the joints, particularly in young patients. Dr. Magu offers full spectrum of Hip Preservation Surgeries, which are a reliable alternative to Total Hip Replacements for active adults. Dr. N.K. Magu, Internationally recognized Orthopaedic surgeon specializes in complex Orthopaedic procedures involving various Hip Disorders and Reconstruction of Pelvi-actebaular fractures. His techniques regarding Biological Fixation of Acetabular fractures and Proximal femoral osteotomies have been widely accepted universally. These surgeries allow patients to retain the natural hip and femoral head, enhance motion of the joint, control pain and in turn helps tp prevent a partial or total hip replacement.

When the hip is diseased an effort should be made to preserve the hip and not to sacrifice the ball that is the head of the femur. By excising the hip, it becomes unstable, short and patient walks with a limb or unstable gate. Excising the head of the femur and replacing it with an artificial joint is no solution to achieve a painless mobile stable hip in the long run. It never behaves as the patients' own God given natural hip joint. Patient cannot squat on toes, cannot perform gymnastics and other sports activities; And the elderly people cannot sit crossed leg to offer prayers. All such functions can be achieved normal or near normal by preserving the patients own viable femoral head (Hip Joint).
